Payment not showing in Account

Someone sent me a payment this morning. I received an e.mail from paypal saying the payment had been sent, yet it isnt showing in my account balance and when I log into my account I see this :-

You can only view the Transaction Details of transactions listed in your History log

Was the transaction via ebay?? If so can you do this >>

Go and find the transaction in your “my ebay” > click to the right where it says sell similar > don't fill in anything just scroll down to the payments section > look in the paypal box > is the email addy in there correct with no spelling mistakes? If so then it would have been wrong on your finished auctions so come back for more advice.

If not then was the transaction international and is he sending sterling or his own currency??

Is it for a pricy or international item eg Nigeria??

Thanks for your help, but got it sorted now. The guy had paid the money into an old account I had under another e.mail address.
