A Buyer opened a dispute on the 10 March as they claimed they hadn't received their item. I sent them all the tracking information, delivery address confirmation and proof of signature prior to them opening a dispute but they kept creating excuses as to why they couldn't view the documents etc. After sending the documents twice in two different file formats, I was at a loss of what to do. It hadn't helped because the Buyer didn't contact me for 20 days to say they hadn't received the parcel! I contacted eBay on the 11 March and eBay closed the case in my favour. My money is 'Held Payment Recived' Pending in PayPal even after eBay have closed the case. Why is the money still being held? I've read that it could be held for 21 days!
To be honest no one but customer services can answer that one for you.
Funds are supposed to be released once a claim is decided BUT it appears to be that since Ebay and paypal split if an Ebay dispute fails then paypal hold the funds in case the buyer opens a paypal dispute.

I did wonder if this was the case. Paypal should make this clear though if this is correct. Ebay told me that even if the Buyer did open a dispute with Paypal as I can provide all the necessary documentation, and I did everything correct the Buyer wouldn't get a refund. Also the item sold was electrical and Paypal are holding just over £120. I guess I either wait out the 21 days or give them a call - neither option is appealing!
