Client has cancelled payment due to PayPal taking too long to process.

Good evening, everyone,

Now as a freelance software developer, I heavily rely on PayPal to process payments made to me, so that I am then able to give the client their finished product. However I have unfortunately been hounded by one client who has gone on to accuse me of scamming them, simply because I will not give them the final product.

My reason for this is that it clearly stated on the bottom of his payment screenshot (whether this payment screenshot was legitimate or not I'm unsure of) that PayPal was currently having problems and that the payment would take several hours to be completed. This client has since gone on to cancel the payment, claiming that I should trust him based off his reputation alone. Quite frankly I see what I'm doing as basic common business knowledge. The client does not recieve the product until the payment has been completed. Of course in this case it has cost me a substantial sum of money, which is going to make the coming month a challenge simply because he couldn't wait a few hours.

I suggested the user use my PayPal.me link, however they refused, stating they're unable to due to having all their money in their PayPal balance.

Now I've finished ranting, I'm curious as to how this might effect my account as I've no sign of any payment made to myself from this individual, however I am unsure on if this user can do anything to place my account under any negative light?

Hopefully (or more so hopefully not) you've had some experience with this and might be able to shine some light on the situation.
