Hey guys,
I sold some bitcoins on Paxful to a what turns to be a fraudulent buyer who went for a chargeback on both transactions afterwards. Basically, I have open disputes for a total of $1700. Could you help me with some advice how to defend against the claims ?
*Key Facts:
- I sold bitcoins worth $1700 (#700 + 1000). I received payment and released bitcoins. Buyer used different accounts.
- Buyer paid the amount and declared a payment reason " NBA Finals tickets"
- After receiving the bitcoins, buyer opened a dispute and asked "Where are my tickets"
I know that it is very unwise to sell bitcoins on paypal because paypal favors buyers. However, I believe there is something in my defence. Usually, fraudulent bitcoin buyers mark the transaction on paypal as ''unauthorized''. Now, this buyer admits to have paid but claims that he has not received the product. I am thinking about the following points that I can use to defend myself.
1. I have two compleyel different buyers on paypal that can be linked to a single trader on Paxful. I have screenshots that prove how the two amounts of the two people on paypal link to the very same buyer on Paxful.
2. I have screenshots from the chat of the second transaction where my buyer asks me to constantly update the invoice to make it look like he is paying for NBA tickets and to constantly update price, which perfectly matches how the price evolves on the paypal invoices.
3. I have a screenshot of my trading activity for the day, which shows both transactions in questions (from the same user) and other transactions that also have passed through my paypal but which have been perfectly fine.
4. User claims that I have stopped answering his calls and texts. He never called or messaged me. I am going to challenge him in front of paypal to simply say what my number actually is, hoping to establish a pattern of lying
5. I have a verified paypal account since 2013, never encountering any problems.
Basically, if he claimed unauthorized transaction, I would lose anyway but he acknowledges to have paid and if I manage to link him to his bitcoin trading account and prove he was buying bitcoins (cash equivelent, not covered under paypal), I would win. What do you think ?
