Hi I have set up some hosted shopping cart buttons on one of my web sites but when someone buys I do not get an email to let me know that someone has bought something from me, this is really annoying, any help or advice would be much appreciated, thanks

Do the usual first if you have not already done so, check you email spam settings. Next, open a support ticket here: https://ppmts.custhelp.com/app/home You will need to setup an account if you don't already have one.
Last, check out the IPN feature: https://www.x.com/developers/paypal/documentation-tools/ipn/integration-guide/IPNIntro it's another method of notification.

I've had this problem for months, raised a ticket for it back in September, chased them up several times and still nothing. The last response I had went on about how busy the technical team were and that I should be assured that they were working on a solution...that was back in November.
Annoyingly, we used to get notifications but then they suddenly stopped - that's why we raised it as a problem.
Hope someone has a solution to this sometime soon.

Wow, no emails since November. I would be a bit unhappy too.
Just a thought. Have tried changing your Primary email address? You can have up to 8 email addresses associated with your account, only one can be the primary. The primary address is the one you use to login to your account and it's also the one that is used by the email notifications.

I have now had four cases of not being informed by PayPal when customers order items from my website.
I have tried to ask PayPal for advice several times, just in case I'm doing something wrong, but I have received no replies. I have also tried to speak to PayPal, using the registered password from PayPal, but each time I have been left listening to music while they try to find an operator, only to be disconnected after about 15 minutes - without speaking to anyone!
Perhaps I should just leave PayPal and use email and cheques.
