Is it possible that a buyer can change their address, and that paypal can still erroneously tell the seller to post to the old address?
First off, I have been selling goods via paypal on ebay and elsewhere for five years and hundreds of happy transactions, never come across this before either in my own sales of on ebay discussion boards..
I recently made a sale (about my 250th so far!) on a rather famous and wonderful record collectors marketplace website.
Buyer advised that I should post to adress supplied by paypal as posatl address held by the website's marketplace was out of date.
3 days later payment arrived complete with address for buyer (Confirmed Address if that is any different) so I duly posted his purchase to this address.
Now it turns out he has moved: I have sent him a screen grab of payment notification email from Paypal showing where I was instructed to post his goods to.
Buyer claims both that his postal address had been updated with paypal some days prior to this, and that the payment confirmation email he recieved from paypal at the same time I recieved mine (with his old address) listed his new postal address.
How is this possible?
Buyer is obviously not happy, but it seems as though the problem lies somewhere between him and paypal, ie he did not complete the change of address process properly, or paypal has somehow dropped the ball with regards to advising seller to post to an obsolete address.
