Is giving API details to Magento Developer a Security Risk

I ma havng a Magento website developed and wish to add PayPal as the main payment method.

The coder has asked for API detailsto integrate PayPal payment inot the site.

Is giving these details a security risk as it is an overseas development company?

I assume they are honest but best to be careful I guess.

Also can anyone who accesses admin on the Magento site control/have access to our PayPal accounts/payments?

Just looking for a ""safe"" way forward.

API's are general so these are safe to share with your developer. You will find more on this here https://developer.paypal.com/docs/api/ .
