Hi, 

I'm in the process of setting up a new website. Think of it as a sideshow...users pay a small amount for acces to the site's content, which is not of a sexual nature.

I need to verify that one day's access means 24 hours, and the access period's beginning and end can be displayed to users. 

This may be a question for my site host but here goes. The system should generate a username and password, allowing entry to the site. Can I add an override code so I can enter the published site for checking? Similarly, can I make copying  the content impossible?

What you have in mind would require a bit of unique custom coding your end.  You could use PayPal's Subscription service for 1 day and it can generate a user name and password.  As far as copying the content and an override code for your access, that would all have to be done on your server side.
