Hi, I am a web designer and have been adding paypal buttons to client's website for several years. I have always done this by logging into my own account and selecting the non encrypted code and changing the email address to that of my client. This means that the client doesn't have to give me their log in details, which is obviously better for everybody.
I have logged in today in order to create a button for a client and the non encrypted code option is no longer available. How can I now create a button for a client, without having to log into their account please?

Welcome to the community.
You can use the external button factory located here.
This way you won’t have to log into their account.
Let us know how it goes.

That looks like a solution - thanks. It does mean that I won't be able to save the buttons though...

Correct, although this a neat feature, you cannot save the button nor use the inventory feature or the advanced features.
Basically you're generating non-hosted item button code. This is a great start if you are manually coding your item buttons as you can build upon this if you want include scripts and other goodies.

Hi!
I am in the same situation as the person who originated the thread. I went to the site mentioned (external button....). But I don't see how to specify my client's information (as opposed to my PayPal information). I want to create a button to allow my client to collect money.
Any help would be appreciated!

As for knowing which account to associate the code with. You enter your client's PayPal's email address in the "Email address to receive payments" box. When you create the code, you will see a line similar to this:
<input type="hidden" name="business" value="emailaddress">
