Whoops, pressed the wrong one!!!

Hi,

I've just changed from having my payment buttons hosted on the Paypal site to having them "on my site" (if that makes sense).

Are there any security issues doing this?

If yes, is there a way to encrypt, or another fix?

Thanks,

Adrian.

We use non-hosted non-encrypted code all of the time and recommend the same to our clients.  Reason is, we do quite a bit of custom work which requires scripts to manage the logic and options.  (Custom scripting does not work well with encrypted or hosted item button coding in many scenarios.)   It's really not an issue.

Yes it is possible for someone to tamper with the code however, as a seller, you are responsible for accepting the transaction.  You have the last say, you either accept the transaction or cancel and refund.

What you need to more concerned about is what happens after the sale.  Scammers really don't take the time to mess with item button code, they want the order to go thru and will pressure you to ship.  They understand  the User Agreement quite well and know how to use the various polices against you.

Great, that's put my mind at rest..... some...

Thanks for your help again Snowshoe, I'll keep an eye out for after sales naughtness instead of worrying about my code.

Adrian.
