I was selling a Nikon Lens £600 , on Gumtree , a few days passed got an interested guy , emailed couple of times about lens , then made offer of £500 , i was pleased , he then wanted to through Paypal i agreed as though all was safe , he then made arrangments to paymonrey into my paypal account , and asked for me to post with recorded delivery  and trcking number , i duly checked emails and i then had email with all the paypals logos which confirmed payment had been made , i duly sent lens recorded delivery to a london address , i then checked my paypal account but no payment , contaced paypal who asked if i had sent item  i informed them yes , they did a check and then hit me with a bomb ITS  A SCAM . my heart dropped , what can i do , well its with Royal mail surely they will help, answer  a big NO , under law its in thier possessionthey have a duty to deliver , i contacted my local polic who were really helpful , i had a number of a internet fraud police , i contacted them , again helpful ( remember this item hadnt benn delivered yet) i gave thenm the address in London .

 

the police took all the details , next day the item was delivered and signed for . Police contacted me later saying they were unable to aprehend anyone , i even sent them the signature of the peerson who had received the lens , this was over a year ago and no further contact .Faith i  fraud department  0Faith in paypal                  0Faith in Royal Mail           0 the name that this Fraudster called himself weather its true   XXXX remember all this and dont be caught out by this Fraudster  but hopefuly somehow he is in a 6x4 cell
