I got a weird email from paypal saying:

The billing agreement that allowed Epic Games, Inc. to make the payment for your booking has been cancelled.

Description:   Cancelled in Payment.

Manage your Billing Agreement by logging into your PayPal account and clicking the Billing Agreement link under your Profile. In your Profile, you can choose and edit your preferred funding source and cancel your Billing Agreement.

Not sure why you received this email? Learn more: Idk if i can share the link but a link is here

From everything I could tell this seems to be a legit email. The sender is [Removed] and when looked at closer the mailed by and signed by are paypal.com. The link goes directly to paypal it seems. It matches the same sender, signed by, etc as every other paypal email I have gottten.

I used paypal to buy a game about a year ago from epic games for 79.99 or 84.79 after tax. I can't find anything to indicate why I receieved this email now. I went to check my paypal account and found two prompts saying there's money waiting is waiting for me. One doesn't list an amount and just says crypto-coin with the image not loading symbol and the other says $80 but doesn't show a sender. First off Is the email legit and second should I accept the money or not because I can't tell if the 2 are connected.

Got this Email today as well. Was very confused as I don't spend money on the Epic store and have no subscription with them. Trying to figure out where they got my PayPal deets from.

I received this very suspicious-looking yet apparently legitimate email today as well, saying "The billing agreement that allowed Epic Games, Inc. to make the payment for your booking has been cancelled."  In my Automatic Payments section, I only have one "automatic payment" (for a one-time purchase of $3) from Feb 16, 2020, over 3 years ago.  Also, as others have noted, there is no "Billing Agreement link under your Profile."  What is the purpose of this email, and what effect does it actually have?

I have the same thing. Epic Games is listed as both Active and Inactive. Thing is, I went through the list of games Epic has, and I don't remember ever buying one. The date on each is 2020, but no amount is listed.

I received the same email on April 16th as well.     With all the other comments, I'm going to assume that it's safe to just ignore it.  It is strange though.   I'm guessing they are purging past accounts.  Fine with me.   I only ordered on game with them a few years ago.   I'm not going to worry about this, or respond to it.

Hello @BearBait1, @angrydorf, @algotastic, @Cthultist

Welcome to the PayPal Community Forum. I'm sorry to hear you've all run into some concerns with a recent email mentioning Epic Games. If you don't see anything mentioning Epic Games in the steps provided by @kernowlass above, there's a possibility this may be a phishing attempt. In that case, I'd recommend checking the following article for information on How to spot a fake, phishing, or fraudulent email or site.

I hope that helps!
