Spread Debit

When I make a purchase from Alibaba, there is a charge for Spread Debit. This is not on my invoice from Alibaba. Why is PayPal adding it and what is it for?

I have this exact question. I talked to a PayPal agent and she had no clue. Speaking to an Alibaba.com agent and she is trying to figure it out but it seems she doesn’t know either.

My supplier helped me figure it out! For some reason this is where they put the shipping charge along with the transaction fee. Check your invoice to see what your shipping charges are. Subtract your shipping charge from the spread debit for the transaction fee.

This is NOT the case for me my shipping is extremely expensive and already added to my invoice. If you research what the spread debit is on Google it states a currency exchange fee

It’s not a currency conversion fee but just a general service charge like our credit card fees.

I currently have the same issue!! Looks like they’re trying to say it’s a currency exchange conversion fee but I’m not sending foreign money I’m being charged in USD. This is definitely a glitch!!!

If you’re purchasing from Alibaba, the currency has to be converted to their currency. But, I was told it’s just a service fee.
