Hi all. I received a notification from PayPal that someone sent me an invoice to make a payment of USD 500 for purchasing a anti virus software which I didn't make. Could I just leave it like that with out paying or how do I cancel or report this?

I received an invoice today for $479 from Xanana [removed], which I've never heard of, and assume it's a scam. However, I'm unable to cancel/delete the invoice or forward it to PayPal as a phishing attempt.

Hi, a fraudulent invoice has appeared on my PayPal account, obviously I won't be paying it, but I cannot clear it.  I've tried accessing the resolution centre but only get "We’re sorry, you can’t file a case on this type of transaction. Please refer to our User Agreement for more details." as a response?  Any ideas?  Name is Emily [removed] $391 USD, never heard of her , no idea.  Clicking on it for details comes up with an error

If it just gives error, PayPal may have nullified it already. You can just ignore it and as you transact, the invoice will eventually rotate off of your recent activity on the dashboard and the activity page.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

@sharpiemarker Thanks, I'd prefer to be active in reporting and getting it removed, I'm not a fan of passivity, but if that's what's open to me, then that's what it'll be☺️

Hello, I have an unknown invoice on my account for £599.99. I haven't made any purchase for this amount. When I click on it, it just says 'Something went wrong' what should I do? Trying to contact PayPal but I just end up with automated services......so frustrating! Thanks 🙂

Scam money request or invoice that shows in your Paypal account..

Scammers harvest email addresses and send out money requests or invoices hoping that some of those email addresses are linked to an open Paypal account.

The unsuspecting recipient is given a fake Paypal phone number in the 'notes' section added by the scammer.
If you did call that number (DO NOT) to query the transaction the scammer tells you that they need to access your computer / Paypal account to cancel that transaction for you.
They will then hack your computer or Paypal account.

Paypal never put phone numbers on emails or in money requests/invoices, they tell you to contact them via help/contact bottom of their website pages.

If there is a cancel option then cancel it.
As long as you don't click to pay it then no money would be transferred.

Hello everyone. I'm frustrated that I have to do a post here but it happened to me that I got a email that said they updated my invoice with an amount of 599,99 $ for a PHONE. I haven't clicked on the link attached but checked my paypal app and there it was too listened as invoice. I tried cancelling it but it says "This is not the right Paypal konto for this invoice. You can only cancel it with the konto the invoice was addressed to." (Note:Translated it from german to english) I wrote the support but still got nothing. I heard to let it be but I'm nervous since it shows at the top of my account. Will it go away?
