Rcvd a counterfeit watch and had it confirmed by brand boutique in Sydney, have all supporting documents. PayPal found in my favour, case closed. I originally advised PayPal I would send the watch back to Paypal but not the seller as I did not wish the the seller to on-sell the watch to another unsuspecting buyer. Seller is now demanding I send watch back and has threatened legal action/debt collectors. I’ve gone through the message from PayPal on the resolution centre and they do not ask me to send the watch back, to nether them or the seller. On further investigation the seller is clearly fraudulent, there are quite a few negative reviews over his counterfeit items. Seller originally did not respond to me when I first asked for a refund, hence why I escalated to a claim with PayPal (and forwarded all the supporting documents). Seller did not respond to PayPal in the allocated time. The day after PayPal find in my favour, seller has sent me a threatening email with my name, address and contact number in bold at the top. I’d like to take the watch to the local police station and let the seller know to contact the Australian Police for it, but where does that leave me?? And say, If I was to return the counterfeit item back from Australia to New York USA (which is a different address to the original Canadian address) does that leave me open to potential litigation from border security for knowingly sending counterfeit items?? Thanks for any advice!
