Hello, my friend received a notification (attached). The sender said to her that to receive the money, she has to pay some international transaction fee. Do you have such a notification? I suspect that it is some kind of scam. Can you help me with this issue? And this is the text of the message he wrote to my friend after he sent her the screenshot (attached) "Baby this is what I got on my end saying your payments is pending due to the international transaction fee charge which occurred and will be completed once you sort that out okay. Do you know how to make the purchase of bitcoin to sort that out?" And later he sent a key to cryptocurrency wallet - [removed] Is this a scam? Attachment text: Payment status: pending Receiver should purchase the 100 bitcoin needed to clear off international transaction fee to complete the payment for money to be available on receiver.

Hello @Jksimens and everyone,
Welcome to the PayPal Community Forum! I'm sorry to hear someone is trying to use PayPal in this way. This is certainly not a legitimate situation. Here are some tips on how to spot fake, fraudulent, or phishing emails and sites. Also, here's an article from our US Help Center on Common scams and how to spot them.
I hope that helps!

I’m just talking to him, its very persistent, to me tell me his name is Jeremy [removed], just told me the same he told you and, even sent me an amerian passport, some videos of him and that kind of stuff, as soon as he told me i had to pay a “fee” i knew it was a scam Here are some texts from him +“You live a simple life and that's good Well let me tell you a little about myself I'm currently in Germany I'm an engineer and I own a commercial construction company. I was born and raised in Florida and I am the only child of my family, I came from a very poor family and a poverty-stricken home where we could hardly feed..my mom is a very caring and hardworking woman she would starve herself to make sure I don't go hungry. My dad was never there for me,he is a drunkard...he would go out in the morning and get drunk when returning home at night....“ +”My childhood was very messy I lost my parents before I was 15, things were very hard for me, I had to strive very hard and I was very determined.” +”My baby's keep me company and give me advices whenever I need them and I pay their bills and debts and spoil them with €7000 to go shopping weekly.” +”During the week, I want to be able to talk to you after a long day at work ,Someone I can connect with.I have gone through many terrible things in my life. Everyone judges and doesn't want to talk.I believe there's more to a person than what's on the outside. It's what's in the heart that counts. Money isn't everything in this world. just want to be able to connect with someone.I want to be able to bring joy to someone's life and for them to put a smile on my face as well” He talked about cars too, he say he had 5 cars currently in the US
