Help in protecting the seller

Hello, I sold the product via PayPal, and the buyer must pay via PayPal. I sold the electronic unit from the cost of the car 1100 euros. In the description of the product and to the buyer personally I wrote that the buyer of this product is not new and has never installed it personally. More than 2 months have passed since the purchase and the buyer said that the product does not work. The buyer installed it himself and claims that it does not work. He opened a dispute to return the money. During the dispute, the buyer took a photo in which he checked this production unit with non-original equipment. The repair was not done at an official Mercedes dealer. And in the case of this part, this is very important, since this part is responsible for the power supply of the car, and in case of other problems in the car, it can simply break. But PayPal decided that I should return the money to him, the buyer should send me the goods back. But the buyer said that he could send the goods only in a month. In turn, PayPal does not leave me any restrictions, except for returning the money to the seller. And on top of that I got a letter from PayPal support saying they can't ensure I get my item back. 1. Why am I completely unprotected as a private seller? 2. Why doesn't PayPal care about the incorrect installation of a part that wasn't done by an official Mercedes service center? 3. Why does the buyer still demand a refund even when they have a PayPal primary message number? 4. How can I be sure I'll get my parts? Thanks and regards!
