Facebook marketplace sale, invoiced buyer, buyer paid but then messaged to say please ship to an address different from invoice?
I have told him to update shipping address through PayPal and am not prepared to ship to a different address until his paypal is updated, is this a scam?

Probably but you can't use another address if it was not changed at the time they paid.
You would need to refund > get him to add and pay selecting the other address.
However paypal does not return the fee you were charged as part of any refund that you issue.
Advice is voluntary.
