Why does Paypal have to be so terrible compared to every other payment method?

Honestly, it feels like Paypal is trying so hard to just hold onto or steal funds.

I've avoided using Paypal because I know how much of a nightmare it has been for people I've worked with, and now I understand why.

I created a Paypal account to receive a payment from a customer, $2,000 USD.

I make the account and receive the payment, my account is immediately limited. Okay, I submit the documents and fill everything out about the money that was received. Then I get an email saying my account is permanently limited due to me being underage. Except.. no, I'm not, I'm in my mid 20s. The email also says my funds will be held for 180 days. Are you kidding?

I log into my account and it still says the money will be made available on July 31st. I call Paypal, the one time passcode I give them doesn't work because of course it doesn't, half the things in my account don't even load. She escalates it, and says I'll need to wait several days for them to figure out I'm that I am my actual age because apparently whoever verified my account couldn't read an ID properly.

Support is abysmal, Paypal is a joke of a payment processor.

The issue may be were you 18 when you opened that paypal account?

If not then even if you were 30 now once paypal find out it was an illegally made minor account they would perma limit it.
