Limited account

Hi. I set up a PayPal for a group of us to pay for an online server. They’ve decided to wait until someone has paid to limit my account. I do not have a clue why. Good timing though. I have to provide my photo ID and proof of address but don’t have a bank statement, which in my opinion is excessive data collection. One of the guys has already been conned by someone using PayPal so doubt he will use PayPal again. What are my options because this is pretty dumb bearing in mind there were no ‘questionable practices’ or what we they’re calling it? I’m absolutely fuming

In addition they want my bank statements to have the same details as the bank details on my PayPal account. Not sure what they mean as I didn’t connect it to a bank as I wanted to either keep it separate as far as I possibly could so that wouldn’t work anyway.

Hello @Leedm

Welcome to the PayPal Community! I can understand how a limitation can be a bit frustrating to receive on your account. Normally, PayPal will only ask information or details about your account activity that are vital to keeping your account open and in good working order. If you're being asked for a bank statement, and you don't have a bank on file, I'd recommend reaching out to our Customer Support teams to see if the Resolution Center was asking for a statement from the other financial / funding source on file.

They can be reached by clicking "Contact" at the bottom of any PayPal page, through Facebook PM or Twitter DM.

Best wishes resolving your case!
