I am using paypal gateway for my website. how can i get the customers transaction id automatically after the payment,before redirecting to the merchant site.
I believe the best solution for you would be to enable "Instant Payment Notifications" (IPN) for your PayPal account. IPN is a message service that PayPal uses to notify you about various action that happen in your account i.e. instant payments, express checkout, eChecks, etc.
