Do NOT have a TAX ID number - is that even legal? Long story .. will I pay taxes? etc.

Started Paypal 10 years ago, or so? USA address, etc. but now I do not live in USA. Do not have a Social Security number or anything closely matching what I am being asked to provide. I was never a USA resident, and never paid taxes there.

So ... should I close my account and go foreign?

... should I carry on with what I have and hope (it's doubtful, anyway) I do not hit US$20,000

.... main question, is my account even "legal" now?

If I start an account in, say, Singapore, and I DO hit US$20,000 do I pay USA tax? If so, HOW!

Thanks for any help - don't want to break laws, and do want to avoid inconvenience at the end of the (tax) year.

Singapore accounts do not have to pay US taxes, and you only have to pay US taxes if you're a US citizen.

I wouldn't worry about it.
