How to view last years running balance

Hoping someone can help me . I cannot get a report that shows running balances from last year . I tried Activity/ Statements and choose Custom / Balance affecting but my report does not show Balance . Does Anyone know how to get around this please ?

They need to have the running balance. What financial institution doesn't have a running balance? So strange.
