22 may refund pending -£25
22 may add funds from bank account uncleared -£24.15
also when i put cursor over the uncleared bit i get this
You're transferring money to your PayPal account with an eCheque. The money will be in your PayPal account in 5-7 days. To help transfer money faster in the future, you can add a backup payment method
how can this be its the only thing i sold today and the only thing i refunded
BUT customer said refund is in her paypal account
??????????

You can only refund via funds in your paypal balance or an echeque.
You are refunding via echeque.
The refund will show in the buyers account but be on "temp hold" until your echeque clears.

When your buyer pays is it never instant > what happens is that paypal "credit" you in advance and then start uploading the funds from the buyers funding source.
So as that payment has not completed the money is not "really" in your paypal account and as paypal don't "refund" in advance then your refund has to go as an echeque.
