We have had to give a user a refund but we did not have enough cleared funds within the account. It has given us a 7 day wait untill the refund will take place (due to the time for our bank account to transfer in)
However, there are now funds in the paypal account.
Is there any way to cancel the new funds coming in, or, even just allocate the refund from the now available funds which are sitting there?
The transaction seems to be locked in to the uncleared funds coming in from our bank account. Seems silly really.
Any advice as I want to get the refund to my user urgently!
Thanks

Hi podweb2000,
Once a payment or a refund has been initiated, it’s not possible to change the funding source. When a refund is being issued there are two funding sources available:
- Instant refund using funds in your PayPal balance
- eCheque sent to the buyer and funded by your bank account
If you are in a similar situation again, I would recommend waiting until you have the full amount of the transaction in your PayPal account to ensure an instant refund.
Hope this helps,
Maria
