Returns to hong kong to get refund

Hi. I recently purchased goods from Hong Kong which were faulty. The seller sent a replacement which was also faulty and very poor. I've put in a paypal claim and this has been granted. However, to get the refund I have to return the items to hong kong at my expense which is going to cost more than the value of the goods. I'm in a no win situation . The seller originally asked me to close the case so they can refund but I found that a bit dodgy but im no better off puruing the claim! Any advice? Besides suck it up lol

With cases of item received but not as described it is often one persons word against anothers.

So paypal tend to find in favour of the buyer but the buyer has to return the item back to the seller first before a refund is awarded.

After all its not really fair to have both item and refund.

If you buy from a seller in your own country then if they don't refund your return shipping costs then you have the option of the small claims court BUT if you choose to buy internationally then of course you can't do that and have less protection.

Your best bet is to read up on what buyer protection offers and then risk assess your transactions.

We have more complaints for SNAD items on this forum from China / HK etc and those sellers know that the cost of return outweighs the price of the item so they often get away with it.
