Refund not received by buyer

Hi everyone, hoping I can get some advice? I sold an item at the end of last month through my eBay store, the customer was not satisfied so I issued an immediate refund and said he could keep the item (it was only £7.75), perhaps gift it to a friend etc.

Anyway, I received a message asking me where the refund was as he is yet to receive it, I refunded him on June 29th...

Is it normal to take this long for a buyer to receive the funds?

A lot of buyers if they pay with instant bank transfer don't understand that the funds are credited to their paypal account balance and not their bank account (unless they paid with a debit card).

So once it has been marked as completed in their transaction history then if they buy something and use paypal to pay for it those funds in their paypal balance ie your refund to them would be used as the funding source.

So if it was instant bank transfer he used get him to check any buying transactions around the date the refund was completed and click on the word "details" and see if any of them was funded via his paypal account balance ie your refunded funds.
