Refund is nowhere to be seen on PayPal account but I have a refund receipt from the shop

Hi All,

On 22nd June, I was in JD Weatherspoons, I used their new Order & Pay app where you can use PayPal. They got the wrong order so refunded my money and made me pay for my correct order. I have the receipt to prove I have received a refund and the bartender told me I would receive the money in my PayPal account.

I still have not got this refund, either in my balance, in my recent transactions or in the list of refunds. It is also hasn't gone straight to my bank account.

What do I do?

Thanks!

Your best bet then is to give customer services a call  >>

Click on the words "Help / Contact" at the bottom of paypals pages and use the phone option in the blue band at the top. Log in and get the code.

When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent or say the word "agent".

In the UK its free from any landline phone.

How did you FUND the paypal payment that was refunded.

1. Bank transfer.

2. Debit card?

I have 2 PayPal payments on the day to Weatherspoons both the same price (£5 each) because I bought 2 lots of drinks, so not sure which one is the refunded one. But the first one is 20p transfered from my bank and £4.80 from my PayPal balance. The other payment is £5 from bank transfer that is linked to my PayPal account.

Have you bought anything and paid for it via paypal since the refund should have gone in??

The reason i ask is that if you have funds in your paypal balance and then buy something then paypal will always take from those funds (as that is now the default funding source), rather than from your normal funding source eg bank account or card.

To check go and click on the word "details" next to any recent paypal buying transaction and see if they were funded from your paypal balance ie refund rather than your normal funding source.

Yes I have, I've just checked and they were all taken from my bank account. I have no clue where this refund has gone! And I don't know if it's PayPal or Weatherspoons to blame.
