Refund for a digital product

Hi,

I purchased a digital product last month and decided it wasn't what I was looking for.

The seller has a 30-day money back guarantee (for any reason) and so I requested a refund.

No response. Emailed several times to multiple addresses with no response.

Looking at PayPal's Dispute page, it lists just 2 reasons for opening a dispute:

Not received item and Item is significantly not as described.

Neither reason is suitable, so can anyone tell me what my options are?

Thanks.

If the item was received and ''as described'' then you can't open a dispute.

Paypal don't cover buyer remorse so you need to sort it out with the seller.

Thanks for the reply.

This isn't buyer remorse. The digital product isn't something I can keep. As soon as a refund is issued, I lose access to it. That's the nature of the product; it's either something I can use or it isn't.

So PayPal thinks it's acceptable for sellers to offer a money back guarantee then ignore any refund requests.

That's brilliant.

The money back guarantee it between you and the seller.

Paypal offers you buyer protection but the onus is on YOU to read up on it, see what protection they offer and then risk assess your own transactions.

They offer protection for non receipt of item OR item received but not as described.

They also offer protection for unauthorised purchases.

Thinking about it, I should be able to choose "not as described" then as assistance from the seller is part of the purchase, and if the seller is unreachable then it's not as described.

Thanks again.
