paid £200 by PayPal family and friends for item on gumtree, goods not delivered, what should happen now
I think there is a significant difference between "gift" and "payment", paypal could be said to be deliberately misleading

When you click on send money it says in big bold letters on the >>
LEFT "pay for goods and services" and you are covered by buyer protection.
RIGHT "send money to friends / family".
Sorry but its not rocket science and nothing misleading that I can see or most other folks either.
