Monarch Airlines refund

I paid for a return flight on Monarch via Paypal on 3rd Jan 2017.  As it is over 180 days am I unable to make a claim?  I cannot get through to anyone in Customer Services to ask as the automated system does not cover this query.

Hi denise5758, I opened a claim only to have it closed immediately as it fell outside the 180 day rule.

How do you escalate it?

This has certainly opened my eyes to using PayPal and since I have only used my credit card for purchases.

We had 3 holidays booked with monarch, the first was the school holidays in October. The day they went bust we went straight on the internet and booked another as we couldn’t bear to let the kids down as they were so looking forward to it. The only problem is I now have a huge credit card bill and without a refund for the original holidays are going to be stuck with it!
