I purchased an item from ASOS in March 2014, and decided to return it for a refund in early April. I closed my bank account on 2 April and the credit card I used to purchase the item was cancelled as well, I opened up a new bank account with a different provider and updated the new account and credit card details on my Paypal account prior to sending the item to be refunded. ASOS processed my refund on 8 April, and my Paypal account shows that the refund was transferred to my previous credit card and the status is 'completed'. The issue is I still don't have my money! I have contacted ASOS, Paypal and my previous bank provider and no one can tell me where my money is and is blaming the other. ASOS have said the refund is managed by Paypal, Paypal are saying the money is being held by my previous bank provider and then the bank provider are saying the money would have bounced back to Paypal. Paypal conducted a trace on the transaction and were able to give me an acquirer reference number that was supplied by my previous bank provider to take to them for them to locate the money. The bank are saying they have no record of the transaction under the acquirer reference number, and no record of the refund attempting to reach my old credit card and then bouncing back. I have been going round in circles contacting Paypal and my previous bank provider and am no closer to locating my missing refund. Paypal are conducting another trace on the refund transaction and I have asked them for documentation to prove the money was received by my bank provider. I have also asked me documentation from my previous bank provider to prove they have no trace of the transaction. Has this ever happened to anyone else? It has been going on for 2-3 months now I'm about to go crazy with the lack of answers I am getting!!!!

Sorry but doubt anyone on here can help with this one.
Refunds always go back to the source of the payment if you used a debit or credit card.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
