E Cheque Pending

I recently made a payment, (7 days ago) and the payment went through as an e-cheque. Paypal stated that the payment was pending until the 7th Sept. The funds left my bank on the 4th or 5th and I presumed would be with the seller on the 7th.

It's now the 8th September and the payment is still listed as pending until the 7th Sept.  What's happened here then?

Its the weekend.

If you want to prevent payments going as an echeque then you need to add a back up debit or credit card to your paypal account or check the one you have listed has not expired and needs updating.

If you do that the payments will then be instant.

Sounds daft i know but i have seen it over and over when a payment is due to be released and its a Friday and doesn't clear till the Monday............think paypal have skeleton staff on a weekend or they put their feet up with a cup of coffee.
