Client refunded deposit?

Hey guys I need some help here, on where I stand.

So I was creating a 3D model for a client, and they put a 250 dollar deposit. After I almost completed the job, and send the preview to them they said it's not what they wanted even though during the process they were happy with the results. Now they are requesting a full refund on the deposit, so basically I am getting nothing. Where do I stand with this? Do I have a chance on keeping the deposit?

You have a chance yes, just make sure that if the buyer files a dispute that you let paypal know that the item is custom made AND the payment was a deposit.

There is no buyer protection for custom made items OR part payments so he ''should'' not win a paypal dispute.

BUT he may do a chargeback directly via his card issuer but only if he funded his paypal payment that way and no one can second guess the card company.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.
