Cancellation - NOT received my payment back

Hi All, 

 

Today I purchased an item off a website I have dealt with before, however I noticed my payment had tthe status of cancelled. 

 

 

I haven''t received any of my money back in paypal account or my bank. When I go to dispute the transaction, when asked for the ID it then says its invalid and I can't dispute it.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you pay a seller it is never instant > paypal pay for you then start the process of uploading your funds to paypal from your funding source.

So when you cancel that payment (as the seller can't accept it), or it is cancelled for you then those funds can't do a u-turn > they have to process through to paypal who will then either return them to your account or credit your paypal balance but that takes a few days.
