Cancel unclaimed payment

Hi,

I just bought an item on eBay last night and immediately paid for it via Paypal. This morning when I went on eBay to check the status of the item (i.e when was it shipping, messages from seller, etc.) it looks like the item has been removed from eBay and I cannot find the seller's eBay name anywhere. He still has my payment however, and I do not know whether this is a scam or the seller genuinely made a mistake. How long do I have to cancel the payment? Should I cancel my payment to him right away? I don't want to be out both my item and my money. Thanks!

If ebay removed the item i would be worried that is may be a fake or similar.

I would go to your paypal account now and as you can't cancel a completed payment file for item not received via the resolution tab in your paypal account . Give it a few days longer and if the item arrives check it carefully and if ok you can cancel the dispute, if it is fake etc then you can amend the dispute to one of item received but not as described, then escalate the dispute to a claim.

If the auction was removed by ebay put this in the comments before you escalate.

You could contact seller via e-mail address on the paypal paymant depends how much you wanted item and was the item you was purchasing likely to be the sort of item that is counterfited which is normley the reason for Ebay removing or its breached one of there rules.
