Payment reversal after a canceled dispute

I purchased some items from a seller but the items didn't come when he said they would. I waited a few days more, and when the items still didn't arrive, I filed a dispute to get my money back.

The items finally arrived another week later and I canceled the dispute.

The seller contacts me today showing Paypal had put the payment on hold to him, releasing the payment to him on Feb. 3rd.  Then it shows the payment to him as being canceled on Feb. 7th and sent back to my account.

The money is not in my account, so what could be going on here?

Welcome to the boards!

I would double check by bringing up the payment in your account and seeing what the status is before taking further action.  If the status of the payment you sent is "Completed," then the seller still has the funds.
