Money transfer doesn't show up in my bank

I transferred money several days ago. The Paypal account shows the money transferred two days ago and the transaction is complete, but my bank shows no record of the money being added to my account. Where's the money? The bank account is verified.

Welcome telemorris

When funds are transferred from your PayPal account to your bank account, it will typically take 3-4 business days for the funds to post to your balance.  Please keep in mind that this does not include weekends or holidays.  Based on your information you should see the funds post very soon.  I wish you well and have a great day.

What is the actual reason Paypal calims it takes 4 days to transfer funds? With millions and millions delayed for 4 days, from all your customers wanting their funds, where does all that  interest  the money is earning go to? You can use my account to store it all. I'd even wait 4 days and not complain. Thank you.

Hello sph

The reason it takes 3-4 business days to receive the money is because the bank does not transfer the money directly to PayPal.  When a bank transfer is initiated, it will typically take up to 24 hours or 1 business day for PayPal to request the funds from your bank.

Once the bank fulfills the request the money is transferred through the Federal Reserve otherwise known as the Automated Clearing House.  This is a process that typically takes 1-2 business days and once they clear the funds to PayPal we will then post the money to your account.  As we receive payments in batches it can take a little bit of time to post these funds to the individual accounts and all told this will take from beginning to end around 3-4 business days.

I hope this helps to clarify the situation for you as I know there is a lot of confusion about how the process works.  Thank you for being part of our community and I wish you a good day.

Thank you for your quick reply but I believe both postings and questions were in regards to transferring funds OUT of Paypal and not INTO Paypal. Your explanation is fine for when I transfer money FROM my bank but it still doesn't explain why it takes 4 days to transfer INTO my bank account from Paypal. Right now, as I type this,my Paypal account says the transfer is complete yet my bank account shows no deposit. I'm certain it will show up but the question(s) is why does it do this. It's like the funds are in Paypal limbo. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello sph

Thanks for the reply.  Whether the money is coming from a bank and to PayPal or from PayPal and to the bank, the process is the same.  As the money goes through the same process the timeframes are generally the same.  When  you initiate a withdrawal from your PayPal account and it says 'complete' then this means we have processed your request and the funds have left our system en route to your bank.

A 'complete' status does not mean that it has posted to your bank as we have no way of knowing when your bank posts your funds to your account.  I know it can be confusing so I am glad that you responded back.  I hope this helps clear up the matter and as always I wish you a good day.
