Have recently sold a car on ebay and it turns out that the buyer has a Romanian address although has a shipping address in Germany - he says he has sent the agreed deposit via payapl and has forwarded his paypal notification but nothing has appeared in my account - he wanted me to send a copy of the V5 document but i have refused - something just doesnt ring true and wondered if anyone out there has any comments.
If the payment is not shown on your PayPal Account Overview page or your PayPal Account History page, then you have not been paid. Does the buyer's forwarded payment notification indicate that the payment was sent to your correct PayPal email address?
Apparently he sent it to an email address that is at least 3 years old in the 1st place but I sent the correct one and on the forrwarded email it has the correct email address.He has been in contact again and says that he is waiting for previous money to refund and will send new payment after Easter but he did put aaddress to click on to alter my ebay email so its correct - needless to say I havent as I already checked and its fine - as I do alot of business via ebay and paypal surely this problem would have occured before - the address as I said was over 3 years old and is no longer in use so I wondered how he got it - any help or hints appreciated!!!!
yes, this is a scam. same thing happened to me through Nigeria. Do not send him anything. If funds have been sent to your account it will show up as either on hold or pending.
