The answer to my question is likely self-evident, but I will ask it anyway just to be sure. When an online purchase is made using PayPal I've noticed that a "Unique Transaction ID" number is associated with that purchase. I just need clarification regarding the uniqueness of this number.
For example: I sell an item online and the purchaser pays via PayPal. Then, in order to gather additional pertinent information from the purchaser in order to fulfill the order, I instruct the buyer to visit my web site and complete a form. Would the "Unique Transaction ID" number serve as an effective proof of purchase if I asked the buyer to enter this number on my form.
I presume the "Unique Transaction ID" is a randomly generated number, and my concern is that I don't want the number to crop up again at a later later relative to a totally different order. I can use other means to confirm proof of purchase, but since the "Unique Transaction ID" number has already generated I figure why not use it.
