Multiple regular subscription sequences.

Hello,
in Germany there is a new Law that empowers the users/subscribers to cancel a subscription on a monthly basis after the initial period when the subscription interval is very long (for example a year). This effectively means that when you bill a second cycle (for the next year) the user can cancel on a monthly basis after the first year and you have to refund the remaining duration.
I would like to prevent this scenario.
My first idea was to set up a plan where the first sequence would be one cycle of one year and afterwards (second sequence) the user will be billed monthly (with a lower price). But this does not work as there is currently only one REGULAR sequence allowed.
Another idea would be to just have plans with monthly cycles and have a Button to pay for one year in advance, which then suspends the subscription and activates it after the paid period expired. Would that be possible?
Any other ideas how to handle this scenario?
Thanks
Jonas
