Is one able to verify webhook signatures generated by the webhook simulator?

I have spent several hours trying to verify a webhook sent by the webhook simulator. I am currently using a sandbox account. I keep getting a "FAULURE" message when verifying a webhook signature. Is this what happens in sandbox?

The events sent by the Webhook Simulator are not real, and thus cannot be verified.

You'll need to generate some real events by executing real operations in the sandbox, like creating a product.
