My Zettle Terminal has a Security alert CODE: 2 and is locked

Well this just happened to us this morning. It is Thursday and we have a Craft show on Saturday and Sunday. Luckily we have the older reader just no printer will be available. Customer service has expedited us a new unit however I don't think it will make it here by Friday. I did an update this morning and was charging the unit. Clicked the power on button to see how much juice we were at and then this. Unit is carried and stored in a secure case. Have only used it for 3 shows this year. The one feature I was not thrilled with is when no WiFi is available it would work using the SIM card. I had to make my phone into a mobile Hot Spot in order for it to complete the transaction. At least I know it is not just us. Sorry to everyone else now and in the future.

This happened to us 3 weeks ago. Yesterday we finally received our replacement unit. I charged it for 2 hours. Then powered it on and WOW it said Zettle Terminal. SECURITY ALERT CODE 2 D0 D1 . Never even got to pair it. Right out of the box it is art. Called this morning to see if I could get a return label so I can send it back. The agent said let me check on something put me on hold. Finally came back said he sent a message to the warehouse. He said I should get a new unit by Monday. I said whoa wait. This is what happened 3 weeks ago. Nothing was sent when I called back I was told I needed to send the unit back in before they would send me a new unit. So I sent the unit in that day. It was a Friday. That label was not a rush label so it sat at the FedEx station until Tuesday due to Labor Day. Then started moving only to arrive on Thursday in Illinois. Then it took a week to come back to me. Only to fail out of the box. So now I have a locked up unit BUT the printer that I got with it works fine I think. But it wont work with the virtual phone app or the old reader. SO it is ART that costed us $269 plus tax and anguish. I am assuming the 12 month warranty restarted yesterday. So very frustrated. Does anyone have the DIRECT number to USA zettle customer service as the AI operator that I get on Paypal number is **bleep** me off. Please tell me what you need today......Agent..But first tell me what you need today....Agent customer support...but please tell me why you are calling today like your balance, your satisfaction...your turmoil

This happened to us once to our first Zettle Terminal during our event and caused a big headache. Support told us maybe someone inserted a card too forcefully. Now it happened a second time with our other Terminal, which was not in use on the date in the error message. USA customer support was helpful, but this leaves us to worry that it may happen randomly again during a critical time for sales. Hmmm....

On our 3rd terminal now. We are a small nonprofit. First 2 just wouldn't power up, 3rd one did and worked for one event, and then security code 2 BL. These things don't work and make it impossible to continue to use Zettle/Paypal moving forward. This terminal and printer were a pretty big expense for us. It just is NOT reliable.
Go somewhere else, do NOT USE ZETTLE.

I believe we are now on our 4th replacement. We had a craft show in the middle of an apple orchard. I turned it on when we were at home on Thursday. Friday I turned it on and SURPRISE security code. I called got transferred to Zettle the agent was very helpful. He tried to expedite the replacement. However it arrived on Monday. The show was Saturday -Sunday. I bought this so I would not have to use my phone. The agent said to just use the Tap n Play. Sure it works but then I can not print a receipt. Sure the customer gets a electronic receipt. But I bought this so I could use it without my phone nearby. I still have the older unit to accept payment and debit cards. $300 plus dollars and now I turn it on weekly to check status. Frustrating. I send back the old one as soon as I receive the new one. This is getting old

It seems that the device becomes completely unusable if it runs out of power, according to the support team.
This is now my second terminal, and I barely used the replacement.
After leaving it unused for a few months, I powered it on only to find it locked.
To make matters worse, they’re offering a 10% discount on a new one – as if that fixes the underlying issue. It’s shocking that a battery-powered device is so poorly designed that it can be bricked simply by running out of charge. I’m done with Zettle; this is unacceptable.
