I'm new to Paypal and am keen to use the pay in 4 installments service, no idea what I'm doing? I will be receiving money from a friend to make purchase on line and could give my purchase power a little more oomf using this payment procedure

PayPal Pay in 4 is not available in every country. Firstly, I would suggest to check your Help Center to see if it is currently an available option for you.
If the option is available for you, you will need to add a bank/card to your PayPal account for the repayments. You won't be able to use your PayPal balance.
