Changing payment card after payment request has been made

The card I have scheduled for Pay in 4 to draw payments from has insufficient funds. I just received notification that they just sent for the next payment, so it is in transition. Do I have to wait until the payment is declined before I can go ahead and pay for it?

Welcome to the PayPal Community and thanks for using PayPal's Pay in 4. If they have already sent for the payment, it's most likely been declined by now. If you've already made the payment with the new card, you can update your payment method by logging into your PayPal account, going to Pay in 4 and selecting the Pay in 4 plan you want to change. There, you can click “Change” under “Payment Method” to update your information or choose a new way to pay. If you are adding a new debit or credit card, you'll need to confirm it before you can use it for repayments.
