Someone sent me money in euros but I live in the US. What do I do?

Hello. So someone sent me 100 but in their local money from Italy in euros. they owed me this money. I thought they would have an option to change to USD before sending me the money? I have not accepted it yet because I'm not sure what to do? I am not trying to put into my bank account I just don't want to accept money I can't use or transfer to someone else here in the US. I let the person know they sent the money in euros and to send it in US dollars. Or can they not do that? My account is personal.

Yes, you can accept it, PayPal will auto-convert it to USD for you. Beware that currency exchange rate and conversion fee will apply. Or, open a Euro currency balance in your PayPal balance: go to Wallet page, click the PayPal Balance and click + Add a Currency, select Euro and then go and accept your payment and it will remain in Euro for you to use if you are paying in Euros for purchase or sending money. The choice is yours.

So usually to pay someone else in my contacts, I just send them the money to their PayPal also in US dollars. If I add euros and keep the money there in eruos can I change it to USD when I need to send money to my also United States friend? Or will it be stuck as eruos forever?
