If you were sent a goods and services payment in error (which could be held up of up to 21 days) and you see "Add Tracking" on the transaction, click it, then select an Order Status and then have your friend confirm on their end. Next time, train your senders to be sure to select "Sending to a friend" so the payment don't get held up for so long.
Otherwise, contact PayPal to see what it is pending for so long.
