PayPal Payments not working through Braintree Checkout

We keep getting errors with the pay by PayPal option on the Braintree payment gateway. It seems to work most of the time but occasionally just freezes on making payment and nothing happens. There's not usually an error code although one customer trying to book via mobile got an error saying: the webpage at https://www.paypal.com/authflow/entrsetupcontext could not be loaded because net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_RESPONSE I think this is a 102 error?
Any ideas what's happening?
