Haven't recieved my money

This person sent me money but am not sure. I recieved an email from paypal saying I recieved an instant payment. But I have yet to get the money. What can I do. Did something go wrong. Scam? Do I need some type of card to put the money in. Is that it? Please help.

Hi Jflo242 and welcome, 

When you receive a payment on your PayPal account you should be able to see this payment straight away. If you are not seeing this payment then I would recommend checking that your registered email address is confirmed as it needs to be to receive payments. If your email address is already confirmed then I would check to ensure that the email address that you received the payment to is the same email address that you have registered on your PayPal account.
