Cancellation of recurring payments reflecting as inactive - is it cancelled?

I had an issue with a recurring payment, a subscription, and opened a case with PayPal. They mailed me to say that they had cancelled the subscription, which I was happy with as I no longer wanted it. However, it is showing as inactive on the recurring payments list and not cancelled. I also cannot get into the recurring payments section to cancel it myself. Is it cancelled? I cannot get an answer from PayPal. Many thanks.

Inactive means the merchant can't claim any more payments.
Advice is voluntary.
